It was their first bicycle tour of the island. These 42 senior cyclists from Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society toured PEI from August 14 to August 29, 2002, did over 930 kms and climbed 5800 meters on this "flat" island. They had a wonderful time, had good weather, enjoyed the scenery and the special attractions but most of all enjoyed the friendly PEI hospitality and its courteous drivers. On their last night in Charlottetown, they were treated to a dinner by the Mayor's office. These cyclists came from various provinces across Canada. The Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society is a non-profit organization to encourage and assist senior citizens to socialize and to remain healthy and active.
